The MEP submitted a written question in the Parliament in which, literally, claimed that “I want to express my reluctance to support the mandatory requirement to incorporate a labeled product origin in processed foods. In my opinion it does not go far enough in the costs and the effects of this measure in the processing chain of the product; nor the benefits that entails for the consumer are needed and threatens the strength of the single market to introduce nationalism and reference to the geographical origin within the EU “.//
